Research Experiences for Undergraduates Symposium
This conference features presentations by students from Research Experiences for Undergraduates programs (REUs) in all disciplines funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), sessions for REU administrators and faculty, and opportunities to meet with representatives from NSF and other government agencies.
Students will have the opportunity to:
Present their research via poster session to program officers, faculty and each other (poster dimensions: 30"x40")
Network with peers and faculty with similar research interests and professional goals
Participate in professional development workshops
Faculty will have the opportunity to:
Schedule meetings with their program officers
Represent their department or graduate school through networking sessions
Access a faculty-only reception
Participate in professional development workshops tailored to REU programs

To guarantee that a place is reserved, payment for the institute must be received by the CUR National Office at least 30 days prior to the event, unless prior arrangements are made with the CUR National Office. Registrations for participants who have not paid, or made prior arrangements with the CUR National Office, may be cancelled.

CUR invites nominations for the eighth Research Experiences for Undergraduates Symposium.
Who should be nominated? Ideal attendees will be students who demonstrate the successes of the REU program, as evidenced by broadened participation, encouragement of undergraduates to pursue scientific and technical careers, and/or outstanding research accomplishments.
Please note: Each REU Site is limited to one (1) nomination, either an individual student or a team of students. A team of students must have worked collaboratively on a research project and be able to present one (1) jointly authored poster at the symposium’s student poster session. Because of limited places and the high quality of REU student-faculty work, the REU Symposium has tended to be a competitive event.

In general, the cancellation deadline is 30 days prior to the start of the conference, except where explicitly noted. Cancellations requests received in writing to the CUR National Office
prior to the cancellation deadline will receive a full refund less a $50.00 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given after the cancellation deadline. Transfer of registration to another individual before the cancellation deadline is free of charge but subject to member classification charges due to differences in conference rates. Transfer of registration after the cancellation deadline will be charged a $50.00 transfer fee.
Institutions may not substitute one participant for another without prior approval of the CUR National Office.
CUR always suggests that registrants purchase low-cost travel insurance when booking their air reservations. Not only will this insurance cover your airfare in the event of cancellation, but it will also cover the registration cost for the meeting.
