NCUR's Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) is strongly committed to the wide expression of all forms and topics of undergraduate research, by all members of the undergraduate research community, and views with great concern any actions or policies that affect that commitment to inclusivity. As Elizabeth Ambos, CUR’s former Executive Officer notes: “CUR’s programs, including its signature student research conference, the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR), serve as 'home' for all champions and practitioners of undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative inquiry.”

Kennesaw State University is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, sustainable and equitable learning community. We believe that all forms of social diversity – race/ethnicity, class, gender expression, sexual orientation, ableness, veterans’ status, and religion—add to the campus community, enrich the student experience, and facilitate knowledge creation across forms of difference.   To this end, we support critical thought and openness to new ideas. We encourage students to engage in dialogue, listen to differing points of view, and to exercise rigorous inquiry as the future leaders of society who will carve out new pathways towards a more fulfilling and beneficial social existence.

Both CUR and Kennesaw State University, this year's host for the NCUR, pledge that the 2019 conference will provide a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for all students and other participants.

NCUR 2019 Refund Policy/Cancellation Fee

Full refunds, less a $50 cancellation fee for attendee registration will be honored for all cancellations received, in writing, by March 21, 2019.  No refunds will be given after the cancellation deadline.  Send cancellations to ncur2019@kennesaw.edu

Transfer of registration to another individual before the cancellation deadline is free of charge, but subject to member classification charges due to differences in conference rates. Transfer of registration after the cancellation deadline will be charged a $50.00 transfer fee.

If you fail to cancel your registration by March 9, 2019, and/or are a no show to the event, you are responsible for payment in full. The National Conference on Undergraduate Research 2019 cancellation fee represents the cost in time, labor, supplies, postage, etc., expended in registering and deregistering an individual. Because the cancellation fee represents work performed by the staff associated with the event, it is the conference's policy to assess the fee in all cases.

CUR always suggests that their registrants purchase low-cost travel insurance when booking their air reservations. Not only may this insurance cover your airfare in the event of cancellation but may also cover the registration cost for the meeting you were to attend.[1]

[1] Neither Kennesaw State University or the Council on Undergraduate Research can guarantee what is covered by travel insurance.  You must carefully review any travel insurance policy that you purchase to determine what aspects of your travel will be covered.
