This task force developed a powerful white paper in 2019 to examine the importance of factoring mentorship of undergraduate research and creative activity into faculty workload and tenure and promotion and that provides various models of practice for institutions. The group is interested in extending this work to develop an evidence base of practice among CUR institutions. In 2019-2020, they developed a plan to survey CUR institutions regarding faculty workload and evaluation. They also identified potential sources of funding for the implementation of the survey, analysis, and publication, and submitted a request for external funding.
2020-2021 Charge: Complete development of a survey to be sent to CUR institutions regarding faculty workload and evaluation. Pilot the survey among selected institutions and optimize questions. Secure sources of funding for broader implementation of the survey, analysis, and publication.
