The Council on Undergraduate Research hosts a Registry of Undergraduate Researchers trained in North America who wish to attend graduate schools in the United States. The registry seeks to assist graduate schools in their recruitment of high-quality students well prepared for research and undergraduates with research experience who wish to pursue an advanced degree. The registry is open to students and graduate schools in the fields of anthropology/archaeology, arts/humanities, biology/biochemistry, business, chemistry/biochemistry, economics, education, engineering, English and linguistics, environmental studies, geosciences, health professions, history, journalism and communications, mathematics/computer science, physics/ astronomy, political science, psychology, social work, and sociology.
Student-supplied records, including the student’s GPA, research experience, and other relevant information, are available to accredited graduate schools and/or individual departments that contract with CUR for this service. The data are available electronically via a password to an online database. Organizations or companies seeking the students’ information for other marketing purposes are not granted access.
Graduate schools pay an annual fee of $1,500 for access to the full database, or single departments may acquire access to student data from their disciplinary field only (e.g., chemistry/biochemistry; biology/biochemistry; physics/astronomy; psychology) for $300.
These fees are waived for CUR Enhanced Institutional members and CUR Institutional members receive a 50% discount.
The Registry of Undergraduate Researchers contains a list of subscribed Graduate schools, who elect to be listed. Graduate schools may provide a link to their websites and may provide a short description of opportunities such as research fields and fellowships. It is also possible for institutions to place an advertisement on the database website if the content is related to the mission of CUR and the registry.
If you are a graduate program administrator or department chair and would like to become a subscriber to the database, please register online. Once you have registered, you will receive an email with more information, including payment instructions and your account login. Once payment has been received and processed by the CUR National Office, your login will be activated for use.
