General Representative Nominations - Fall 2020

The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) invites nominations for the position of General Representative to the Executive Board. The Executive Board meets monthly through webinars and teleconferences, in-person twice annually, and also engages regularly via virtual means between meetings.  The Executive Board has fiduciary responsibility for CUR, and sets and implements strategic directions to advance the organization.  The Board seeks individuals who will bring fresh perspectives on how to advance CUR’s mission and strategic planning goals, including leadership for undergraduate research; diversity, equity, and inclusion; collaboration and community; advocacy and partnerships; sustainability and accountability.  Desired expertise includes networking and collaboration with relevant agencies, institutions, or foundations; cultivating relationships with donors and/or partner organizations; and/or procurement of external funding. The Executive Board continues to seek candidates from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Candidates need not be members of CUR at the time of nomination but must have experience in public or private entities with missions aligned with that of CUR and become members if elected.

Nominations are due by November 15, 2020.


Nominations should be addressed to the chair of the Nominations Vetting Committee (NVC), Karen Lee (, and to Robin Howard ( by November 15, 2020. Please include the nominee’s name, contact information and a brief statement of the nominee’s qualifications for the CUR Executive Board. Please do not contact the nominee before NVC review.
