Assessment Strategies for Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences

01:00 PM - 02:00 PM

At a free webinar, do you teach a course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE), are you thinking of implementing CUREs on your campus, or are you assessing the impact of multiple CUREs? This webinar will provide an overview of strategies to assess a specific course along with departmental and campus level assessment strategies. Topics will include models for assessing student outcomes including development of content knowledge, academic and professional skills, and academic achievement. We will also review assessment techniques for campus goals such as retention in STEM, persistence in college, and graduation rates. Assessment strategies will include study designs that assess the quality and depth of educational experience along with quasi-experimental strategies that follow criteria for the Institute of Education Sciences’ What Works Clearinghouse.
