The University of Central Oklahoma, in collaboration with the Council on Undergraduate Research, is dedicated to promoting undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative activity in all fields of study by sponsoring an annual conference for students. This gathering of young scholars welcomes presenters from all institutions of higher learning and from all corners of the academic curriculum. NCUR is an exceptional opportunity for you to engage with the best and brightest students who will join us in 2018.

Attending professional research conferences has a positive impact on the success of all undergraduate students, particularly those who are first-generation students, from low-income backgrounds, or populations who are historically underrepresented in higher education. The Diversity & Inclusion Stipend was established to assist students with the cost of attendance at NCUR 2018 in order to promote diversity by promoting participation by student presenters and attendees from institutions and states that have not been represented at previous NCUR events.

In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must meet at least one (1) of the following:

  • First-time attendance at an NCUR conference;
  • Member of a traditionally underrepresented population (such as minority class, first-generation student, nontraditional student, low-income, etc.);
  • Awards, honors, activities, participation, membership, volunteering, or other involvement that promotes diversity and inclusion.

Preference will be given to applicants 1) presenting at NCUR 2018 and 2) from an institution not represented at a NCUR conference during the past three years

To be considered for this scholarship, please 1) complete the application (link here), 2) sign the application, and 3) submit all application materials in pdf form to amartinez9@uco.edu by February 1, 2018.
