understand the processes revolving around that subject, and to feel confident in producing or executing in the future.

Guided URSCA Establishment and Expansion Opportunities [Bundle]

This Framework series focuses on establishing offices and expanding opportunities involved in the Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and Creative Arts (URSCA) program. Its targeted audience are program directors, leaders, and institutions wishing to expand on their URSCA program development and strategic planning. It is strongly recommended that 3-5 member teams from a campus participate in these Framework sessions to strengthen the capacity for the development of URSCA on your campus.

This bundle consists of four parts.
Pre-Conference Workshop launched at our Virtual Biennial Conference on June 28, 2020. 
Strategic Development Part II A: September 16, 2020
Strategic Development Part II B: September 23, 2020
Strategic Development Part III A: March 3, 2021
Strategic Development Part III B: March 10, 2021
Individualized Institute Assessment* TBA: Spring 2021


Each component will include a webinar, facilitated question and answer session, working session, and discussion session. 
These courses can be purchased as a bundle, or you can purchase the Guided URSCA Strategic Plan Development pre-conference workshop as a stand-alone.

PROGRAM LAYOUT_____________________

Guided URSCA Strategic Plan Development: [Virtual Biennial Conference] Pre-Conference Workshop 
June 28, 2020 | 2:00 - 5:00PM EDT  

Using a combination of interactive and on-demand web-based resources, participants in this pre-conference workshop will learn about the nuts and bolts of effective academic-year and summer URSCA programs (including virtual URSCA formats). Participants will also begin the development of a strategic plan for their program. This workshop will consist of learning capacities such as a presentation, interactive and facilitated break-out sessions based on varied program formats, and open question and answer panels. As the participants dive deeper into their program, they will be assisted with a baseline institutional assessment and begin developing a strategic plan. Participants will be provided with web-resources to help support their strategic planning and more.


Guided URSCA Strategic Plan Development: Part II & III
Part II will take place September 2020; Part III will take place March 2021 

Part II will focus on Assessment and Strategic Planning through the development of a Logic Model for your program. Part III will focus on Funding Models for programs. In additions, participants will have access to web-based mini sessions on selected topics (e.g. First-Year Research Programs, Scaffolding of Research into the Curriculum, Campus Celebrations, SACSCOC QEP). Facilitators from the working sessions will schedule follow up calls with each institution after each of the sessions. 

More specific timing on these two parts will be announced in the coming months.
We are following the restrictions and guidelines of how campuses may operate as we move forward and are cognizant of this when releasing dates.  

 

Guided URSCA Individualized Institute Assessment
Will take place Spring 2021 

In coordination with the CUR Program Review Committee, and Institutional Review will be scheduled to assess readiness for your current URSCA programming. Campuses will be asked to submit program plans and needs. CUR Facilitators will then visit the campus* (pending travel restrictions) and meet with relevant groups to prepare. Oral feedback will be provided by the reviewers at the conclusion of the visit, with a written report following within three to four weeks. 

Scheduling for the assessment will happen after your completion of Parts I-III and will be scheduled for dates available in Spring 2021.

Cancellation Policy: In general the cancellation deadline is thirty days prior to the start of the event (in this case, the start of the bundle), except where explicitly noted. Cancellations requests received in writing to the CUR National Office at cur@cur.org prior to the cancellation deadline will receive a full refund less a $50.00 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given after the cancellation deadline. Transfer of registration to another individual before the cancellation deadline is free of charge but subject to member classification charges due to differences in conference rates. Transfer of registration after the cancellation deadline will be charged a $50.00 transfer fee. Institutions may not substitute one participant for another without prior approval of the National Office.
