1. How do I check if my institution is a member of CUR?

To view all of the current CUR members and their membership level please refer to the Membership Tab of the CUR Website and then click on List of Institutional Members.

2. My institution is an Enhanced Member, how do I sign up as an Individual Member?

Please refer to the Membership Tab of the CUR Website, hover over Become a Member, select the Individual Membership Online Application, and select your institution's name from the dropdown list.  A pop up will announce that you have added onto the Enhanced Membership, click OK and complete the application form.

Once your membership is processed, you will receive a confirmation email. Each CUR member is assigned a unique login username and password. This login information can be used to access the CUR members’ only website where you can: update your membership profile, receive discounts on meeting registrations, receive discounts on publications orders, review a wealth of resources on undergraduate research and perform many other member functions.

3. How do I renew my CUR membership?

Individual members can renew their own membership, and the prime contact on the Institutional membership can renew the Institutional membership.  Please refer to the Membership Tab of the website, hover over Renew Your Membership and select either the Individual or Institutional option. Follow the on screen instructions to select the membership you want to renew, and submit payment.

4. How do I change my institution membership from a Regular Institutional to Enhanced Membership?

To upgrade your institution from an Institutional Membership to an Enhanced Membership please contact our Robin Howard at (202) 783-4810 x203 or robin@cur.org.

5. What is an Institutional Representative?

Each of our Institutional Members have three Institutional Representatives who receive the same benefits as an Individual Member. They are selected at the discretion of the institution and their benefits include:

•A paper subscription to the CUR Quarterly.

•Discounts to attend CUR's Biennial Conference and CUR Dialogues, both of which include workshops and opportunities to network with peers and representatives of funding agencies. 

•Access to information on funding opportunities, jobs, and other resources on the members' only portion of CUR's website, in the monthly CUR E-newsletter and over CUR's listserv.  

•Eligibility to receive mentoring or pre-submission proposal reviews from colleagues in your discipline.

•The opportunity to develop and be recognized for leadership skills within the academic community by serving on CUR committees and on the General Council or participating in departmental consulting, speaking, and other leadership activities.

Additionally, we offer Enhanced Institutional Memberships that offer an unlimited number of individuals that can be listed as institutional representatives, and thus receive full membership benefits with an electronic subscription to the CUR Quarterly.

6. How do I check or change my Institutional Representatives?

The Prime Contact must log into the Institution Page to view and edit the Institutional Representatives. Please visit the Membership Tab of the CUR Website, hover over Update Membership, then Institutional Profile Update and login.  Once on the profile page, scroll to the bottom and click Edit Institution Profile, use the links at the top to jump to Step 4, Individuals.  This will list all individuals associated with the institution, click Edit Record next to the individual that you want to remove as a representative, scroll to the bottom of the page and change their representative number to “No Selection". If they have left the organization, you can check the box to remove them from the organization. Save and continue.

7. How do I change my profile information?

If you want to update the information for your Individual Membership, sign into our Individual Member portal by visiting the Membership Tab of the CUR Website, hover over Update Membership, then Individual Profile Update and login.  Update the appropriate information, continue through the screens by clicking Save and Continue Update or by using the Jump links at the top of the page.

In order to update the information for an Institution the Prime Contact must sign into the Institution profile by visiting the Membership Tab of the CUR Website, hover over Update Membership, then Institutional Profile Update and login.  Once on the profile page, scroll to the bottom and click Edit Institution Profile.  Then update the appropriate information, continue through the screens by clicking Save and Continue Update or by using the Jump links at the top of the page.
