Governance

CUR is governed by a Council, which is elected by the members of each of our nine disciplinary divisions, one at-large division, and the undergraduate research programs directors (URPD) division. The Council elects an Executive Board, which in turn chooses an Executive Officer, who manages the national office.

Each of CUR's eleven divisions can have up to 24 Councilors. For a listing of the Councilors in a particular division click on the links under Division (see left column). CUR committees comprise Chairs or Co-Chairs plus Councilors who represent each division.

In 2003, the Council members and the Executive Board voted that CUR Past Presidents who are members in good standing are granted status as a special class of non-elected voting members of the Council called "Emeritus Presidents".
