Complimentary Webinar: Advancing Undergraduate Research

CUR Webinar: Advancing Undergraduate Research:  Lessons Learned from Working with Consortia and State Systems

Thursday, October 22nd, 2015 - 4-5 p.m. (eastern time)

Are you interested in institutionalizing undergraduate research (UGR) across your campus, and within consortia and state systems with which your campus affiliates? In this webinar, we will describe the NSF-funded work done with consortia and state systems in helping campuses expand and enhance UGR successfully. We will discuss connecting UGR to the curriculum and student outcomes, faculty issues such as workload and tenure/promotion, connection of undergraduate research to institutional cultures, missions and goals, and the theory of change model that we are proposing for advancing UGR in systems and consortia. (Note:  we are encouraging a “flipped classroom” approach to the webinar, and would suggest attendees review the publication relating to this work.  http://www.wiley.com/WileyCDA/WileyTitle/productCd-1119061369.html.  We have a limited number of copies that we will present to interested webinar registrants gratis.  The Council on Undergraduate Research gratefully acknowledges the support of the National Science Foundation through NSF DUE 09-20275 for this work. Any opinions, findings, and conclusions or recommendations expressed in our webinar are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the views of the National Science Foundation.
