Jodi Wesemann has been involved with undergraduate research since she was an undergraduate at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois.  After doing research at Augustana College, participating in the ACS-PRF summer research program at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and spending a year at the Universität Braunschwieg as a Fulbright Fellow, she obtained her Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry at Indiana University-Bloomington.  She then spent two years as a Dreyfus Fellow at Harvey Mudd College, where she taught and did research with undergraduate students.  In 1996 she joined the faculty at Saint Mary’s College of California, where she works with undergraduate students on the synthesis of metal-containing liquid crystals and on electrochemical investigations of nerve gas antidotes and antioxidants.  Jodi is an active member of the American Chemical Society.  Having been a member of the Younger Chemists Committee since 1995, she is currently serving as Chair.  She has also been a member of the Council of Undergraduate Research since 1995.
