Samuel A. Abrash is Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry, University of Richmond.  He has been at the University of Richmond for 10 years, and in that time has been very active in undergraduate research, advising over 40 research students, many of whom have gone on to graduate school.  Last year he was awarded a Henry Dreyfus Teacher Scholar Award by the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation.  He has been involved with CUR even before his first election to the council three years ago.  He has been involved with the Poster Session on the Hill since its inception and this year is in charge of selection of the posters for the session.  He is also co-chair of the Membership Committee, has been a member of the Strategic Planning Committee for the last two years and will be organizing a session at the CUR 2000 Meeting at the College of Wooster.
