Do you want more from
your CUR membership? Do you
know others who are active in CUR and want to be more fully active?
Here
is your chance! We need
interested CUR members to nominate themselves or others to serve as
Councilors. CUR Councilors
are involved in the development of CUR at the divisional and
organizational levels. They
design and coordinate programs, including workshops, meetings and
information resources.
This
is a great chance to meet and work with other people who share your
commitment to undergraduate research and to help CUR grow more
influential. Nomination
instructions and the names and contact information of those on the
Nominating Committee are below. Please
contact any of these individuals if you have questions.
Members
can nominate themselves or members of any CUR division by submitting
names and addresses to the appropriate Nominating Committee members. The Committee will then mail information to the candidates to
obtain supporting data.
The
Nominating Committee will select a slate of nominees including
approximately 50% more candidates than there are positions to be filled
(so long as we have that many nominations). It is the Council’s goal that the nominees are balanced with
respect to institutional affiliation (public and private institutions),
area of specialization and geographic location. The Committee encourages the nomination of women and minorities.
The
Committee members will be glad to answer any questions you may have
about CUR and the responsibilities of Councilors. Councilors must be current members of
CUR who have demonstrated commitment to CUR’s goals. All nominations must be received by one of the Committee members
by November 1, 2007.
