24th Annual Undergraduate Research Conference Sponsored by the MJ Murdock Trust Highlights Northwestern U.S. Science Achievement

The 24th  annual MJ Murdock Charitable Trust – Murdock College Science Research (MCSR) Conference was co-hosted by the University of Portland and held in Vancouver, Washington on November 6th and 7th.  The conference provided an extraordinary opportunity to showcase the achievements of MJ Murdock-funded science undergraduate students and their faculty mentors.  As Dr. Moses Lee, Program Director for Research and Science stated:  “The 2015 Murdock College Science Research Conference has lived up to all expectations. Participants learned great science through the theme “The ICIng – Innovation, Collaboration, Interdisciplinary, nurturing growth – on Undergraduate Research”; participants were inspired; and they had fun! We are looking forward to the 2016 MCSR Conference in Spokane.” Also participating in the conference was Dr. Amelia Ahern-Rindell, immediate past-President of the Council on Undergraduate Research, and a biology faculty member at University of Portland, the conference co-host.

The MJ Murdock Trust has provided over $800 million in grants to organizations in the primary funding region served by their programs.  For more information about the MJ Murdock Charitable Trust http://www.murdock-trust.org/.
