CUR Dialogues 2012

Held February 23-25, 2012 CUR Dialogues is designed to bring faculty and administrators to Washington, D.C. to interact with federal agency program officers and other grant funders.

CUR will an additional workshop February 25-26, 2012. This workshop has a registration fee in addition to that of the conference, or can be attended independently. This years, the topic is: Proposal Writing: Beyond the Basics.

Participating Agencies

Workshops and plenary sessions will: 

  • tell participants about grant opportunities in research and education, both new and ongoing;

  • assist faculty learn how to find new funding opportunities;

  • assist faculty develop grant proposal writing skills.

Participants will:

  • meet in small groups and talk with program officers and grants management officers -- NSF, NIH, NEH, NEA, HHMI, Dept. of Energy, Dept. of Ed. and more;  

  • take the opportunity to communicate directly with program officers and grants administrators concerning grant requirements and funders’ priorities;

  • share ideas with colleagues.

In addition, CUR Dialogues provides a setting for funders to learn of the interests, needs, and concerns of researchers and educators relative to funding opportunities.  CUR Dialogues have spawned many ideas for grant programs, and has helped agencies to refine their program guidelines.

Who should attend: Faculty at all career stages; undergraduate research directors; grants administrators; development officers.

Our maximum capacity is 450.  If we have met our cap, you will get an auto response informing you that currently you are on a wait list.  Your credit card will not be charged.   When applying on-line,  if you do not get the wait list message, then the meeting still has room. If you're paying by check you will receive an email if you have been placed on the wait list.

Cancellations made in writing to the CUR National Office on or before February 10, 2012 will be charged a $50.00 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given after February 10, 2012. Transfer of registration to another individual before February 10, 2012 is free of charge, but subject to member classification charges due to differences in conference rates. Transfer of registration after February 10, 2012 will be charged a $50.00 transfer fee.

Institutions may not substitute one participant for another without prior approval of the National Office.

CUR always suggests that their registrants purchase low-cost travel insurance when booking their air reservations. Not only will this insurance cover your airfare in the event of cancellation but will also cover the registration cost for the meeting you were to attend.
